EOCCO Timely Access to Care Survey Reminder
An email was sent out earlier this week for Primary Care, Specialists and Urgent Care Clinics to complete our Timely Access to Care Survey. As a reminder, this survey is sent out twice a year and the last survey was conducted in November of 2021.
EOCCO is required to follow the Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs) and contract requirements with the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) to regularly monitor our network and ensure that members can get their care in a timely manner. This survey will help us identify member wait times for both getting an appointment and wait time in the provider's office. Your accuracy is appreciated. We may contact you if we have questions about your responses.
EOCCO providers are required to participate in this survey as outlined in the Provider Manual. Please complete by May 31, 2022.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Pain Management
Join EOCCO and your peers at the upcoming Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Training for Pain Management on Friday, July 8th , 2022 from 9 am to 3 pm! This clinical training program is being offered free of charge for professionals interested in learning more about this therapeutic modality and how to use it to help their patients. The course will be presented live via Zoom and attendees will have the opportunity to interact in real time with presenters and other attendees throughout the presentation. A recording of this course will be made available to all program registrants. Click here to register.
Updated SBIRT Screening Tool for Clinics
The OHA Health Policy & Analytics department recently revised the alcohol screening question in the SBIRT Brief Screen tool (also called the Annual Questionnaire). Clinics that use the Brief Screen in their SBIRT workflow must change over to the updated version of the tool by October 1, 2022 in order to continue receiving credit for the SBIRT incentive measure. The old version of the Brief Screen may be used and counted toward the SBIRT Rate 1 measure up until October 1st.

A Conversation with Medical Providers About Eating Disorders
GOBHI and Dr. Sandra Lare, CMO for Lifeways, are sponsoring a one hour in service for psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and medical providers on identifying and treating eating disorders. This in service will include common myths of eating disorders, recognizing signs and symptoms, and resources for families and medical providers.

Increased Efficiency with IET Metric Cohorts: Tools to Support SUD Professionals

Motivational interviewing trainings for diabetes management (no-cost CME)
Oregon Medicaid providers are invited to no-cost virtual trainings (with CME) on motivational interviewing for diabetes management. The trainings will focus on improving providers' confidence and skills in conversations about sensitive behavior change topics required for diabetes management. Dana Sturtevant, MS, RD, will lead these trainings. Three types of trainings are available, with multiple opportunities to attend each between June 2022 and February 2023:

Behavioral Health Practice Guidelines
EOCCO has recently updated the Behavioral Health Practice Guidelines to include clinical guides for the following areas:
- Anxiety
- ADHD
- Bipolar
- Depression
- PTSD
- Schizophrenia
- Substance Use
- Suicide
These guidelines can be found here on EOCCO’s Referral and Authorizations page.
Post-Partum Benefits Policy Change
The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) has implemented a new policy changing the duration of post-partum benefits. Those receiving OHP supplemental benefits will now continue to receive benefits for 12 months following the end of their pregnancy, instead of 2 months. EOCCO members with post-partum benefits will continue to have access for 12 months post-partum.
This policy affects those eligible for OHP plus (BMH) benefits whose pregnancy ended or will end on or after April 1, 2021. OHA has now released a Provider Fact Sheet that describes how this change affects provider billing.
Reminders
Medical Records Review
Beginning April 2022, the OHA and Health Services Advisory Group (HSAG) will be conducting a Medical Record Review of a portion of EOCCO members randomly pre-selected by HSAG. Your clinic/facility may be contacted by EOCCO to ask to procure a medical record for this review if your patient falls into the randomly pre-selected batch.
Intensive Care Coordination (ICC) Services
EOCCO's Intensive Care Coordination (ICC) services is a program to eliminate barriers to remove gaps in care for members identified with high complexity or comorbidities including for members in Prioritized Populations. ICC services is a collaborative process of assessment, planning, facilitation and advocacy for options and services to assist members with complex conditions and help them access needed resources. Providers, community support staff, members and their representatives can make referrals to ICC services via any verbal or written means.
Providers can refer EOCCO members for ICC services by using the referral form available onour website.
